Since I was a boy I've loved surfing and I've been a loner. Maybe they go together. After a good education at a private school in Cornwall I got a BA in anthropology at Goldsmiths in London and then, after some confusion, an NCTJ post graduate diploma in newspaper journalism in Brighton. I made it onto the national papers and had a kid on the way — then it all started to implode in my late 20s.
The help I received inspired me to volunteer as a listener at the Samaritans, the suicide helpline, and I qualified as a psychotherapist with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) in 2018.
